  1. Welcome to the PDSL SCIENTIFIC & TECHNICAL CD ROM

  3. HISTORY: Since 1982 PDSL have specialised in supplying the best in PD and
  4. shareware to thousands of customers world-wide. In 1992, for the first time
  5. we offered a major part of our library on the LIBRIS BRITANNIA CD ROM. 
  6. Although we cover all areas of interest with our program selection our
  7. specialist area has always been technical and scientific programs. Although
  8. there is a lot of space on a CD ROM we still had to leave a lot off the
  9. LIBRIS BRITANNIA disk. For this reason we have split our library into two
  10. parts: Part 1: The Technical Volume (this disk) covering technical scientific
  11. and programming and part 2: Best Applications, covering other more general
  12. interest areas. These to parts together replace to original 1 disk version.
  13.  
  14. CONTENT: This disk brings you the largest collection of scientific and 
  15. technical public domain and shareware programs available for the PC anywhere.
  16.  
  17. PROGRAM AGE: Although it is our general policy to bring you the latest possible
  18. versions of programs and just omit early programs. Scientific and specialist
  19. applications tend not to go out of date so quickly or to be updated so often
  20. as more general applications. We have included on this disk a number of files,
  21. which by our normal age criteria, would normally have been omitted. However,
  22. these files either include source code which is still perfectly usable or 
  23. adaptable for your own applications, despite age, or programs which are unique
  24. in some way and which have never been updated by their authors. 
  25. With this later class of programs you may occasionally have problems with 
  26. later versions of DOS and may have to use the DOS LOADFIX and SET VER options.

  31. This package includes a book and this disk.
  32. The book gives descriptions and list of the disk content and will help you find
  33. the items you are looking for. If you did not receive both items contact 
  34. your dealer or PDSL.

  36. This disk contains many shareware programs. Shareware can be considered to
  37. be a sort of try before you buy system where you are expected to pay the
  38. program author a registration fee if you find the program useful.
  39. You will find detail of registration included in the document/text files
  40. provided with each program.
